This is a fair computer, but expect to spend a few hours with it when you first get it. It requires an hour or so for set up, set aside another hour to remove all the junk that comes with it and at least a couple of hours to create the recovery disks, as the program that creates them is ssslllooowww.

Having said that it's a good computer, although not exceptional, and for the hardware it has I was expecting its windows experience index rating to be higher than the 3 given. It can be a bit of a slow runner, although things sped up a lot once I removed some unnecessary items form the startup. The web cam though is excellent, giving a clear and bright picture, and is fun to use.

The software that comes with it is unexceptional, and to save space most of it was removed; the obligatory Norton, MS Office trial, a Sims game that took up 2 gigabytes of space. Having been a long time user of Power DVD I was very disappointed in the Cyberlink DVD suite that came with the computer. It seems a step back from their other products; playing DVDs is a hassle. Why can't they stick to the same old interface that worked so well?

Having said all that Amazon have provided a well spec computer at a great price. Delivery was also great as I ordered on a Sunday and I had the computer by noon on the Tuesday.

Grate lap top for the price the only hold back is that it dose not have any HDMI ports and the battry is short lived (runs out quick)
im a university student studing computer science and i can tell you this lap top will run better if you install windows vista ultimate or windows 7 ultiimate like i have

some bad points
This a good handy computer but the NVIDIA graffics are sadly lacking and the computer just goes blank and needs re booted, this is apparently a big problem which no one seems to want to take responsiblity for. The hard drive has also broken and needs replaced although that is just one of those things. Generally its an ok computer and HP back up good.
