Useful introduction to offshoring IT to India3
This is a book I first came across a couple of years ago, when I was first getting involved in the idea of offshoring IT to India, and I found it very helpful indeed - it didn't just explain the concepts clearly, but gave some useful practical advice.

Once I got into my first experience of this type of work, I found I "outgrew" it a little, so moved onto some of the other texts out there, but for a newcomer to the field this is excellent and helpful reading.

And on re-reading, I started to see references and ideas that made much more sense once I had gained some real-life experience, so it is still relevant even to older hands in this game.

In terms of the more strategic aspects of where the whole global services revolution is going, I felt it was a touch superficial, but then again that wasn't what I bought it for, and I would imagine the same applies to most people who pick this up out of the many books now appearing on the subject.

All in all I recommend it to anyone looking at this subject from a practitioner's perspective, particularly those new to the it.

Good read3
This is a great book for people heading out to India for the first time. It gives a snapshot of many of the Authors experiences and is is a valuable tool in understanding the Indian mindset.

An excellent read on outsourcing!5
Paul Davies has presented different ways of managing outsourcing projects in India, has discussed extensively the Indian culture characteristics, what points of communication need attention and what are the sensitive bits of outsourcing management within India.

The book is highly commendable since he has combined years of experience and expertise to define how an organisation outside India can develop an outsourcing plan within India, what are the issues to be faced and addressed and how to complete such an outsourcing project. Davies provides good advise on decision making which is essential to organisations with no past experience in project management in India.

I would highly recommend the book to IT professionals and organisations seeking expert advise on how, why and under which conditions to outsource to India.
