Delay is fond of suffocated sounds, particularly the inherent hiss and crackle of vinyl spinning under a blunt stylus. "Ranta" sends such sounds through varying layers of digital processing, so that miscues loop, freeze, bubble, and gyrate to their own bizarre internal logic. "Viite" is a symphony of echo, reverb, decay, and, yes, delay, as Delay labors to exorcise the glorious texture that lies within the polymer endoskeleton of vinyl. Delay's name is sure to be on the lips (and on the DATs) of many a producer for decades to come.
