More fun than you could lob a Batarang at!4
Having almost cracked the gargantuan Lego Star Wars Complete Saga on the Wii months ago I was delighted when I found that my beloved Dark Knight would get the Lego treatment.

I wasn't disappointed. Indeed this game aptly manages to marry the kid friendly good humour of the Lego franchise with the epic and compelling legacy of Batman, and the game has personality and charm of its own in spades!

The trademark Lego humour was still there but it wasn't derisive of the essentially dark Batman mythos. The characters in the game are larger than life and given to slapstick comedy but still true to their comic book counterparts.

Batman and his supporting cast are as lovingly rendered and animated in Lego form as one would expect from the franchise. As in lego Star Wars, every character moves, jumps, runs and fights in a unique way that is true to their character and they all have fun special abilities that are grounded in the comics. The little idiosyncracies of the characters contribute much to the overall charm of the game. Leave Two Face standing too long and he'll flip his trademark coin, make Killer Croc double jump and he'll bellp flop like a crocodile, Poison Ivy can take down guards at close range with her trade mark lethal kiss.

Missions are fun and engaging, though a little short lived. In fact, I think Lego Batman requires around half the completion time of its counterpart in a galaxy far, far away. Easily the best feature is the ability to play through each level from the point of view of the criminals as well as that of the heroic Batman and Robin.

All the Bat-vehicles are also at your disposal and the vehicle levels are far more accessible and easy to control than in previous Lego games.

While the tone and controls of the game are unmistakably kid friendly there are numerous touches that will appeal to adults, particularly older Bat-fans. The rendering of Gotham City is suitably dark and opressive, set off spectacularly by Danny Elfman's Batman (1989) score.

The game may well be imperfect, very little use is employed of the Wii's innovative controls, and the gameplay will offer nothing new to veterans of the Lego franchise. But for those like their gameplay fast, fun and frantic with a touch of comic book zanyness, Lego Batman will appeal!

GREAT5
I usually never play games. I ended up one weekend ages ago playing lego starwars and loving it. Was not sure if Batman would live up to it, and it did. My 6 year old son and I had a fantastic weekend and half-term playing, our favorite was playing the villain games. We have been talking about which one is better, and we are still undecided. The characters in this are fantastic. I am a firm fan of the lego game series, I think for my sons age (and possibly mine) its brilliant.

Absolutely fantastic fun, great fun!5
Only bought this game today but can't stop playing it, its absolutely fantastic. The game is good fun; the 'action' is easy, but the logic part of the game is sufficiently challenging to entertain an older player. This is the first game I've played in the 'Lego' series but I will definitely be buying more.
