Synopsis
Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter: the seasons are the first measure of time and the cyclical nature of things. All are interconnected and they transmit the sense of continuity as well as change in the world. "The Manga Tarot" shows a universe of connections and references, constructed around the fantastic epic of the Orient.

Gentle, reassuring - wonderful for relationship spreads
Just because it's called Manga don't be fooled or put off, this is not a cartoon deck. The somewhat misleading title simply refers to the general theme of the deck i.e. oriental style characters and Chinese symbols.
The artwork in this deck is just beautiful and would make a great addition to any collection. However for you readers out there that like to use your decks, the Manga Tarot has a lot to offer.
For the most part, the cards follow the Rider-Waite tradition and the pip cards are fully pictorial. The following is a list of the bonuses of the deck:
* Characters faces are drawn with brilliant expression to really give you a flavour of the meaning behind the card
* Characters are drawn in poses or action shots that befit the card meanings unlike some other decks where the characters are just standing or posing.
* As well as the usual numbers, there are also Chinese hieroglphs on the cards depicting the season that is linked to a particular card. Some cards for example the Fool are devoid of the glyphs whilst the Wheel of Fortune depicts all 4.
* the male and female characters are inverted in this deck - so for example, in the 5 of wands, the usual gaggle of fighting men is replaced with more assertive fighting women, the Hanged Man is actually the Hanged Woman (a naked lady doing a handstand in a waterfall) but the Kings, Queens, Knights and Pages remain as they are.
A great deal of thought has gone into this deck and everything that appears in the cards, especially the characters' expressions, the colours used, the stances adopted by the characters are all there to help you reach the many meanings behind the cards with the added bonus of the fantastic art.
A gentle deck that also gives excellent readings - particularly, I have found, for relationship based questions and issues.
Excellent for all levels of tarot readers, including students and a must for the collectors.
