Editorial Reviews

Amazon.co.uk Review
From The Terminator to Titanic, you can always rely on writer-director James Cameron to show you something you've never seen on the big screen before. The guy may not consistently pen the most scintillating dialogue in the world (and, especially in this movie, he doesn't seem to have a particularly high regard for women), but as a director of kinetic, push-the-envelope action sequences, he is in a class by himself. In True Lies, the highlight is a breathtaking third-act jet and car chase through the Florida Keys. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a covert intelligence agent whose wife of 15 years (Jamie Lee Curtis) finally finds out that he's not really a computer salesman and who becomes mixed up in a case involving nuclear arms smuggling. Tom Arnold is surprisingly funny and engaging as Schwarzenegger's longtime spy partner, and Bill Paxton is a smarmy used-car salesman whom Arnold thinks is having an affair with his wife. Purely in terms of spectacular action and high-tech hardware, True Lies is a blast. --Jim Emerson, Amazon.com

Warning! Croped version1
As a result of UK channel ITV cuting/censoring part of the fight scene in the toilet, I purchased this DVD, however when I compared it with my/the 4.3 Video I noticed that there was additional footage left & or right of the 4.3 image, which would suggest that the film was made in at least a 16.9 widescreen aspect, however instead of the DVD being a/the full 16.9 Widescreen version it has in fact been UNNECESARILY croped to a letterbox aspect, which has black bars top & bottom; This is not the only film to have had this done to it, also films that were made in an aspect inbetween 4.3 & 16.9 have also been UNNECESARILY & SEVERELY croped to a letterbox aspect, titles include "Broken Arrow", Beverly Hills Cop I & II", "the Long Kiss Goodnight" & "the Money Train".
NB. oddly enough the UK Video of the Money Train has, in comparison with the 4.3 version broadcast on the FX Digital channel, been croped on all 4 sides.

Not What i Was Expexcting2
I bought this product upon the reveiws of others on amazon, to my dissappointment, i thought it was dreadful. This supposedly high action thriller, has few breath-taking stunts, and all that amused was the humour, which was so lifeless it was actually funny. Another thing that amused me was the terrible acting, i havn't watched many movies, but this was some of the worst i've seen, below HOLLYOAKS standed. This really is a dissappointing films, and although it appears to be only my opinion i thought it was lacking in almost everything. If you want a high action thriller buy BOND without doubt, the recent ones or Sean Connary in particular.

ARNIE RELIABLE FILM4
Good action film with the ever reliable Arnie. Engaging story as Arnie is a secret agent (Bond like) who has a seemingly mundane life/family. Enter Jamie Lee Curtis as the plane Jane wife who becomes embroiled in his latest mission to stop Florida being Nuked.

Plenty of action and well filmed. Recommended fully.
