Synopsis
A dispute between scientists over cryogenically freezing maniacal killer Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) or researching his amazingly regenerative tissue is literally cut short when Jason hacks up the research staff. Trapping herself in the cryogenic chamber with him, Rowan (Lexa Doig) freezes Jason, halting his rampage. Four hundred years later the two are discovered by the student research craft Grendel. Both scientist and her subject are revived in space in the year 2455 when Earth has been destroyed, but Jason Voorhees proves what horror fans have known for years, that his killing spree continues indefinitely. Slaughtering most of the crew, Jason does meet his equal in a feminine android (Lisa Ryder) only to receive an upgrade making this veteran killing machine of 10 movies an even more unstoppable force.
Although 2455 seems no different from the 2002 release date of this 10th film in the FRIDAY THE 13TH series, JASON X does breathe life into the long-running horror series with computer generated effects and a witty script by Todd Farmer. Some clever self-referencing is particularly effective in a virtual reality segment that confuses Jason and, of course, an ending that leaves an opening for yet another entry.

X-TREMELY GOOD!5
I loved this movie. In my opinion, this is the best of the JASON movies. Jason in space? What a great concept! This movie combined two of my favorite genres, horror and science fiction. The movie delivers on all counts. It has a great story line, and terrific special effects. The movie is non-stop action and the killings are very creative. This movie is very gorey, and in fact, I would say it is the most gorey installment of the FRIDAY THE 13th movies so far. And without a doubt, this is the funniest movie of the series. It has some really great laughs. The director definitely seems to have a well developed sense of humor and a true love of action, horror, and sci fi. This movie is awesome. I loved the part when the space ship crashes in to the space station and then the space station explodes. Also the part when the grunt gets cut in half and the next shot you see is the poor guy dragging half his body across the floor.

The characters are all likable and memorable. Not to mention, this installment of the series definitely has the HOTTEST girls. There are not too many other movies in general to come to my mind that have women of this calibre.

In particular, I have to mention Melody Johnson. She played the character "Kinsa." I think she is absolutely gorgeous. A modern day screamer-movie beauty. She is incredibly sexy throughout the movie. She kind of looks like Anna Paqin, but I think Melody is better looking. She is just exactly my type. I own JASON X on DVD and I put it in every once in a while just to check out Melody Johnson. It seems unfortunate to me that Melody has not really done too many other movies. She is so beautiful I would like to see more of her...A LOT more of her!

If you are a fan of FRIDAY THE 13th, or just a sci fi or horror fan, you absolutely have to see JASON X. The hologram sequence at the end where the "upgraded" Jason returns to Crystal Lake and encounters HOT co-eds is priceless. The two girls offer Jason beer and pot, and then exclaim "We love premarital sex." Then Jason beats them to death by wrapping them up in their sleeping bags and smashing them into a tree. Its creepy, violent, and super funny all at the same time.

You really have to see this movie. It is top notch from start to finish. Check it out and you will not be disappointed, you will be thoroughly entertained.

Really good sequel5
I really enjoyed Jason X, a lot of horror movies series' turn bad very quicky, but Friday the 13th is still going strong (I'm not sure which was first of the two recent sequels Jason X and Freddy vs Jason but this takes place in future so it's the latest entry in Jason's timeline) with it's 11th movie.

Jason is finally caught and cryogenically frozen for hundreds of years (along with a young female who was about to become his victim) but is regenerated by a bunch of students (it's not really clear what they are studying, but it's not really important either) on a spaceship in the year 2455, where he immediatly proceeds to kill them off one-by-one in his usual gory/creative ways.

Although only rated 15, this movie is deffinatly not lacking in gore and is probably more gory than some of the more heavily cut Friday the 13th movies. I thought that there was a lot of suspence, too, as you know Jason is ALWAYS near the charatecters as they are all trapped together. The character development was great in this movie, too. The main characters all had clearly different personalities and some were very likeable. Also, the movie is quite funny in places and made me laugh, which is always a good thing :).

One of better Friday the 13th sequels.

not great but not the worst!3
this isn't the greatest film ive ever seen but its not the worst! watch with your tongue firmly in your cheek and you may find you quite enjoy it !
