Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
Ari Taub's moving, intimate World War II drama looks at one day of fighting in northern Italy through the eyes of American, German, and Italian troops. The careful direction, lovely black-and-white cinematography, and strong performances from the ensemble cast help this film overcome its obviously modest budget.

Customer Reviews

like no other war film3
give this film a chance. it is a very low budget production and it shows but its strength is the unusual lengths it goes to in order to present a human face to war and sacrifice. men doing things no-one in their right mind would do. the fact that every character depicted clearly wants to be somewhere else but does their 'duty' is what produces war. I can't think of a film to compare it to (not Saving Private Ryan!) but it's worth watching. I enjoyed it despite its glaring shortcomings.

Utter Drivel1
Oh how I wished I'd read the reviews on this DVD before wasting my money on it .It says on the cover 'Saving Private Ryan But Even Better' Well you should be able to have whoever wrote that on the trades description act for that alone, They obviously never watched Pte Ryan,You get the feel of what this DVD is going to be like in the first 10 mins and it is just appallingly made and infuriatingly slow moving, Complete and utter tosh from start to finish....save your money and 2 hours of your life you will never get back.....

Save your money1
This is not even worth buying at £2.49, utter rubbish no matter what it says on the cover. As for being 'better than Private Ryan', whoever publicly voiced that opinion should be certified!!
