Synopsis
Fondly commemorating and gently poking fun at the trends, fashions, and attitudes that made the decade of the 1970s so distinct, THAT 70s SHOW chronicles the rites of passage of a group of teens growing up in the Wisconsin suburbs. Eric Forman (Topher Grace) lives with his parents, his no-nonsense dad, Red (Kurtwood Smith), and his somewhat loopy mother, Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp), and hangs out with his sometimes girlfriend, Donna (Laura Prepon), cheerleader Jackie (Mila Kunis), hunky Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), conspiracy theorist Hyde (Danny Masterson), and clueless exchange student Fez (Wilmer Valderrama). The show revolves around the ever-shifting social dynamics of the teens and their families, and despite the silliness of the sitcom situations, the show touches on serious issues (absent fathers, marital problems), and at times creates a surprising poignancy. The eighth and final series sees several key characters depart the show, including Kelso and Eric. Also watch for fresh breakups and new romances as the series winds down to a close.
Customer Reviews
The great last series.
Even without Eric Forman(Topher Grace) it was funny. Sadly this show had to end sometime, but it ended really well. This series is brillliant(in my opinion) it can be a little cheesey sometimes but we'll let that slide. The story still is great, the characters are still brilliant. So why so underrated? Anyway The last episode of the show ends brilliantly couldnt of ended any better. The only problem is i wish it went on for longer. Good way to end your That 70s Show collection.
The end of he decade...
It is true that this last season suffered from a lack of Mickael and a lack of Eric but despites that the writers managed to kep the great lines and I found myself laughing out loud several times. randy was a weird choice (I'm sure everyone thought some new guy would come along to assure the interim!!!
The cast was awesome again for one last time (what a pity)
Even if the basement was deserted, I would really like to see
"Point Place, January, 1st 1980!!!!"
I don't know, pay the cast a million bucks per episode but I would pay myself to see That 80s show
The end of an era!
The final season of that 70s show sees the usual gang with two major omissions Eric Foreman, played by Topher Grace, who left for Africa at the end of season 7 and Kelso, played my Ashton Kutcher, who features in the initial couple of episodes.
In their place we are introduced to a new charchter by the name of Randy who Hyde takes on at the record store, i personally wasnt a fan as it did seems as though the producers tried to make Randy a cross between Kelso (and his looks obsession) and Eric (with some insecurities coming into play as wel as being the more mild mannered of the group) as if trying to replace both charachters with one new one, this would be the main reason for the 4 star rating as opposed to the 5 stars i would give seasons 1-7.
All in all it is an enjoyable finale to the show and at that price for over 7 hours of great entertainment what more could you want?
