WWE Judgment Day 2009
WWE JUDGEMENT DAY 2009 was filmed at the Allstate Arena in Rosemount, Illinois in Chicago on 17th May 2009.
The night began with CM Punk against the Samoan giant Umaga. Not a bad start to the evening with some impressive moves from both stars. 7/10.
Next Christian defended his ECW championship against Jack Swagger. This was not too bad but fairly forgettable and way too long for what it was. 5/10.
John Morrison took on Shelton Benjamin in a singles match. Some high-flying moves from both superstars made this a decent watch with a fantastic finish. 7/10.
Rey Mysterio faced Chris Jericho next in an Intercontinental competition. Very exciting from start to finish with some excellent reversals that you will only get from these two high performers. 8/10.
Next we saw the powerhouse Batista attempt to get his hands on Randy Orton's WWE Championship title. A good fight that kept me well entertained through the duration of the match, however the ending was a little predictable. 8/10.
John Cena took on nemesis The Big Show in a match where he was way below the level of fitness to fight due to injuries caused at BACKLASH. This had quite a slow start but had some truly anger-driven, bone-crunching manoeuvres that you'd expect from a grudge match as strong as this one. 8/10.
Finally, the World Heavyweight Championship was on the line when the champion Edge took on Jeff Hardy. Absolutely incredible from the open minutes. Some of the most career-risking moves were seen here and there was a very unexpected finale that wrapped the evening up nicely.
Overall this was a fairly action-packed evening with some very enjoyable matches. Nothing really too shocking or memorable happened though so if you did happen to miss this one there's not much in regards to storylines that you've missed out on. Definitely worth watching and one of the better PPVs so far in 2009.
not the years best
first things first, judgement day 2009 was a good event ,it did however have the odd botch in it which messed the flow of an event that should have been better than it was.
The event contained some real killer with edge vs jeff hardy and jericho vs rey rey,i have to say that swagger vs christian and shelton vs john morrison was a bit average while cena vs the big show was actually very good as was umaga vs cm punk where both men gave all they could.
Batista vs randy orton was a bit tepid where orton kept trying to lose the match which is a trait i dont like of our current wwe champion but thats the way he is behaving at the minute.
This is a pleasing event but it isnt perfect, not even close.
