Manufacturer's Description
Thanks to TalkMan - and a large blue multilingual bird called Max PSP (PlayStationPortable) is on a mission to break the ice and tear down those barriers that keep nationalities apart. Bring the art of language to your gestures, put words behind the shrugs, turn Spanglish into perfecto Espanol, make the move on the girl or guy in that foreign bar who catches your eye - in short, become a jetsetter able to communicate in six languages with more than 3000 crucial phrases at your fingertips.
Following the recent success of the Asian version in Japan and Korea, Talkman is coming to Europe and Australasia this spring on PSP, courtesy of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. TalkMan is the portable language entertainment tool and interactive phrasebook that makes sure you are ready to talk - wherever you are and comes packed with the phrases that count in six languages: French; English; German; Spanish; Italian and, of course, Japanese
Customer Reviews
really useful
This game is really great, it has helped with some basic language for Spansish and French. Although the Japanese is very hard in the Pronunciation Game. The Translator mode is brilliant and although often does not translate directly from voice does have a good stock of phrases that are useful. Some more emphasis on games would be good but that is my only real criticism.
Its so boring
When i first bought this game i thought it was gonna be great and the microphone looked really cool but when i played on it it was so rubbish the micro phone didnt work so i went on the game mode which i thought might be a bit of fun but i went on it and all it did was say a couple of phrases and u had to chose the right translation how stupid is that and the bird called max really bugged me. these games are made for adults to encourge their children to learn they are not fun its just a boring learning game
Fun in numbers
This game is suitable and frustrating for perfectionists! Max the bird is really specific in what you say, but once you get it right the satisfaction is immense. In my opinion, it's best played in numbers where a group of friends can laugh at each other and cheer when they finally get it right. It's well worth the money; my friends are now talking of getting the game since it's a highly entertaining and interactive way of learning a new language.
However, I'm slightly disappointed that Talkman does not offer Chinese, which is surprising given the growing importance of the language.
Nevertheless, the six languages it offers will take quite a while to master!
