Customer Reviews
diving into - and through - the confusion
I found this book clear and concise; at last, a book which makes interconnections between spirituality and psychology/conditioning, and which is written in plain English! OK, so I admit a little bias - I speak to Stephan on a weekly basis - nonetheless I can't believe that many people who have an interest in this area will find the text as mysterious as has been suggested by the previous reviewer. This is no new age monstrosity - it's down to earth, straightforward talk about the process of feeling your way to your natural state (note: feeling/experiencing, not just thinking). Whilst written in a modern style, it is not in any way divorced from more traditional teachings, as ample quotations from other teachers are included. Go on, give it a try!
Not as easy as you may think
Mr Bodian has authored two books in the 'Dummies' series which are excellent.This is a different matter -those who experience the allegedly spiritual 'enlightenment' cannot transmit it because they do not know how they attained it themselves. Some meditate for a lifetime with no success and others get it in the bath. It may even be a physiological occurrence in the brain -a synapse short circuit, a genetic predisposition. If enlightenment were attainable by book, we would all be in that condition and wouldn't the world be a different place! One of the illuminated even claims that the world is as it should be. Hmm.
The obscure and inpenetrable nature of this book is shown in its last sentences, which are ;
'Rest in the limitless spaciousness and emptiness of innocent looking don't-know-mind....Nothing else is needed and nothing is left out.You are already what you seek. Just be it!'
Its full of this. What on earth is conceptual thinking to make of it?
