A sensitivity dip in the 500hz to 2kHz range accentuates the bass slightly and reproduces a warm soundstage. The Power of V-MASQUE and BLISS Technologies

V-MASQUE is the speaker technology designed to reproduce V-MODA's sculpted sound curve. It involves using micro-sized metal alloy housings with dynamic neodymium speaker drivers to produce intense clarity and a warm, rich sound. Many other high-end headphones use balanced armature drivers, which can produce clarity well when inserted deeply--and for many people, uncomfortably--into the ear. Yet even in the best-case scenarios headphones using balanced-armature drivers can often lack warmth, producing a "mechanical"-sounding midrange and highs that feel flat and cold. The sound signature of the Vibe series is specifically designed for juicy lows and a sweet midrange yet maintains very precise highs.

BLISS is the acronym for "Bass-Level-Isolating Soft Silicon". Passive noise isolation by itself is not unordinary for in-ear headphones, yet extreme attention to detail is critical because of the fitting's effect in both comfort and sound. The exact thickness of the silicon can make all the difference in the world. Many of the "softest" silicon fittings on some brands proved to be too thick in V-MODA's user test panel. BLISS is made to not only be extremely comfortable in the ear canal, but also to be the easiest earphone to put in and take out quickly. This way one can rock quickly in a matter of seconds, then take an intermission before another encore.

The shape of the fitting is also extremely crucial to prevent them from popping out too easily by providing a proper seal. One of the interesting things V-MODA discovered is that the smaller the fitting, the better the fit for some users since the smaller fitting fits slightly deeper to prevent fall-out. However, many people commonly try only "larger" fittings thinking they may be tighter when the opposite is true. This is why V-MODA puts the small fittings on by default in the packaging, but users should try a few different sizes to decide for themselves optimal sound and comfort.

The design behind BLISS is also an ideology of how far deep the fittings should lie in the ear and the level of noise isolation. In V-MODA's user test groups, many users found that other high-end headphones required a fit too deep and too intrusive to get the best sound and comfort. BLISS fittings are "just right" for everyday use and the amount of noise isolation they provide.

New version = Very good
These headphones are great quality and the sound is excellent. Bass is very loud, mids and highs are clear but could be better. Sound started off a bit muddy but choosing the correct EQ fixed this.

Sound isolation is also excellent, i wear these on the bus and tube everyday around London and can barely hear a thing (apart from the music ;) ) when i turn the volume up.

The new version of these have a fabric cable as opposed to the plastic cover and the audio jack has a 45 degree bend to keep it from being damaged. This makes it a whole lot more durable than the first generation of the Vibe headphones which had a lot of problems of loose/fragile connections.

Good clarity but lacks Bass
On recieving my Red Roxx ear phones I removed them from the packaging and plugged them into my iPod Nano. I was dissapointed and satisfied in equal measures. Satisfied with the clarity and crispness of the sounds but the bass lacked punch that my £6.99 sony earphones gave. To be honest, even the pants white ipod earphones gave a better bass puch. However, I gave them a chance and used them whilst out on my mountain bike one week. I was happy that they cut out so much wind noise and the clarity of the music really shone through. This was something that was lacking with my previous earphones at 20-30mph winds as I pelt down hills/roads. After riding I took a look at the packaging and the specs on the packaging are different to what Amazon list. The frequency responce of the phones on Amazon are listed as 8Hz-22KHz. The packaging list the phones as 12Hz-22KHz! This would account for the lack of low-end sound that was missing from my drum'n'bass that I love so much. I still have my packaging so am contacting Amazon about their incorrect specs that they list. I may well end up sending them back but having been used twice, do I stand a chance? I'm not sure. They certainly dont meet the criteria that Amazon list, even if they are a good quality sound. Buy them if you like your music placid and tame. Dont buy them if you like your bass deep and dirty!

So good I bought them twice
I bought these to listen to while I exercise. Then liked them so much, they replaced my bose QC3s for regular listening. I wore them out and bought another pair as i like my bass and had enjoyed my last pair so much.
Pros:

+small and discrete
+some noise cancellation from the silicone

Cons:
-need running in for around 18 hours before they start sounding sweet
-get ear waxy often
-people won't want to listen to their sweet sound when they're full of ear wax
-the removable silicone can pull off too easily and be dropped while taking out of tight pockets
