A Christmas tradition5
This DVD release contains the 1982, 1984 and 1987 Christmas specials of The Two Ronnies which were practically a British institution.
The disc also conatins specials suvh as the 1972 edition of Christmas With The Stars and the Old Fashioned Christmas Mystery. As a bonus, there is also a documentery featuring interviews with Ronnie Corbett and others who helped make the show what it was.
My personal favourite sketch comes from the 1987 Christmas special - it is Pinocchio II: Killer Doll and is one of the darkest sketches that The Two Ronnies ever did.
If you are a fan of old-fashioned Christmas Entertainment and specifically The Two Ronnies, then you sjould not hesitate in buying this great DVD release.

Comedy from a different era4
The Two Ronnies was much-watch TV when I was growing up. Although not laugh-out-loud funny, they were very entertaining. Comedy from a different era but it stands the test of time. Highlight for me was the Old Fashioned Christmas Mystery.
I really enjoyed these DVDs although I was disappointed with Christmas Night With The Stars. Not because of anything that was on it, more what was missing. In the opening credits The Goodies, Dad's Army, The Liver Birds and Mike Yarwood were due to appear. Unfortunately the BBC cut these from the DVD but kept Lulu and Cilla Black in! A missed opportunity, especially as anyone buying this DVD would have an interest in 70's comedy.
Not sure if all their Christmas specials are on this DVD - they must surely have done more? They did do more programmes broadcast on Christmas Day but I don't know if they were Christmas themed.
All in all, well worth the cash!

Two Ronnies Christmas Specials3
Despite being marketed as the Complete Christmas Specials, this is nothing of the kind. Missing from the DVD are the 1971, 1980 and 1981 Christmas Specials. Does anyone know why this is? Were those episodes wiped (as was typical practice within the BBC), or are they to be the subject of a future DVD release?
