Solved tremendios virus problem
Said yes to run an Active-X component I should not, and bingo, a backdoor was open, and all Hell was loose. My Internet provider closed my line twice, because my PC was used as spam-server etc. I could not visit any anti-virus sites, because the virus had taken over the name server (the name server translates a readerfriendly name to a physichal IP-adresses, e.g. www.amazon.co.uk to 255.255.255.255). Finaly I managed to find an anti-virus site that was not blocked - the SpyHunter version 3 was downloaded, and it immediately recognized that it was being blocked to access the Internet, which it handled very well, and I could again search the net with access to the real nameserver (and not a hoax version of Google) and my regular anti-virus program from Computer Associated(CA). So I scannned my pc with five different anti-virus, including Symantecs and F-Secure. But no one found any more virus, but clearly something was wrong, because there were still much traffic on the line, and the provider closed it down the second time. Now I was really stressed, because if it was closed a third time, it would be hard to get it opened again. The CA license was running out, so I decided to try the Norton 360 Premium version 3. But I did not dare download it, because some sophisticated virus takes over the anti-virus programs and pretend that they run ok. So I wanted a dvd to put in directly, and ordered it here. Unfortunately I received three mails that the release was postponed, but at last it came. And I could'nt wait - if this version did not find anything, then what... But it found two virus: Hacktool.Rootkit and Backdoor.Trojan. As you can proberbly guess from the names, they are not nice! Norton removed them effortlessly :-) Then I let Norton clean up the registration database, and three hours later my two netcards didn't work. I think it was because I deleted another program, which could also clean up the registry db. The problem with the netcards turned out (after many many hours) to be wrong entries in the registry db. The solution was to delete them as hardware and install them again. Now it works.

The registry clean-up has done the start-up of my pc much, much faster. I highly recommend this product :-)

What a product this is, fully automated functions and comes with 25GB free online storage, also comes with a 3 user PC License, this should be another award winning 1st class product from Symantec, and is a gem in the PC Antivirus world!!! BUY!!!!

Best Norton product ever
Excellent anti-virus and computer maintenance product. It almost does everything in the background and require only little bit of user instructions.
