A Useful Home Weather Station
The outdoor unit guarantees an accurate snapshot of the weather, but it should be placed on the north side of something (in Northern Hemisphere) to avoid direct heat from the sun, and also it is better kept dry for accurate humidity measurements, although getting wet will not harm it.
The base unit will also monitor temperature etc where it is, so useful for checking on the conditons in the home, eg how accurate room thermostats etc are.
+ The clock is super-accurate (MSF Rugby or Frankfurt), wonderful!
+ The forecasts are surprisingly good (my Dad was a meteorologist).
- It is hard to read the LCD unless the incident light is just right, the internal light will run down the batteries if used a lot.
- Sometimes the remote sensor forgets what it is doing, and takes ages to get going again, but it will eventually, usually after a full reset.
A wonderful present, as mine was, but I would be in two minds about buying one for myself.
