About the Author
Author Jane Pettigrew writes articles and books specialising in tea, the tea industry and related subjects, and speaks at conferences around the world on all aspects of tea and tea history.
Jane’s early working life was as a language and communications trainer, but after 12 years she opened the well-known teashop, Tea-Time, in Clapham, south-west London, with two friends.
After two years of freelance lecturing, writing and catering, Jane became editor of Tea International, Journal to the Tea Trade published by the UK Tea Council. Tea International subsequently merged with Tea and Coffee Trade Journal, published in New York.
From 2003 to 2005, Jane worked as Managing Director of St James's Teas Ltd, a London tea company that sells loose and tea-bagged teas to the retail, catering and souvenir trade in the UK, and exports to various overseas customers in Japan, Hungary, USA, Korea, Kuwait and Europe.
Today Jane appears regularly on television and radio, discussing all aspects of tea, tea history, cooking with tea, the brewing of tea, tea and health, etc. She has written 11 books on her specialist subject, including two guidebooks to tearooms and teashops in London and Paris.
Jane has written three books in the Pitkin Pleasures & Treasure series for Jarrold Publishing: Afternoon Tea, The English Pudding and The Picnic.
