Usual Sony quality and great sound4
I bought this to connect my MP3 player to the line in and use with batteries outside. It works perfectly for this but now I have tried the Atrac CD I will probably use it for this more. Its a shame it does not have RDS for display of radio station names but you can program this in manually if you want to.
I have not had a problem with the noisy drive like the previous reviewer and the quality is as you would expect from Sony.
It only has fairly basic functions, it would be nice to have a clock and alarm but it does have some sound options including a basic graphic equaliser and mega bass and the sound is good for the size of unit.
The shape is a bit odd and it does have a carrying handle so it is portable but a bit big for anything other than around the house or taken out in the car.

Think you are ordering a portable CDplayer with radio.1
The picture shows a Nice looking portable Sony cd player with ear phones and inline controler. Wicked I thought I have it.
Unlucky, bang the model number into google and you will see a totaly different Sony product! Yer it plays CD's and has a radio but its huge and more like a "Getto blaster", mains only portable it aint.

Bringing retro into a new age4
My friend put me onto the Sony Atrac3Plus CD player range after my last discman broke. Everyone else recomended MP3 players but I was watching them break down in tears as their ipods broke in front of them. Also I was reluctant to leave my extensive collection of CDs gathering dust.
So i bought one and have never regretted it. Product quality appears to be of usual Sony quality and the discman hasn't let me down yet. There are a few niggles with the system. Each song takes a few seconds to load up and it whines quite audibly so not suitable for listening to in the back of class. Also because of the high compression any scratches or dust on the cd will cause jerky delivery or leave the player searching for the track your looking for. Pause and then play usually sorts this out though. And the benifit of pulling out a cd player and selecting anyone of up to 360 tracks and completely confusing your friends "But it's a cd player!" is more than worth it. But the best bit is you dont have to wait till you get home to listen to a new cd. Just bang it in!
