Editorial Reviews
CD Description
The eagerly anticipated self-titled debut from Liverpool based star in the making Ray Quinn is a stunning collection ofswing favourites from the baby faced X-Factor hero. Featuring Quinn's own skillful, fun yet moving interpretations of classic tracks originally performed by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin, the album includes many of the songs that Ray performed live due to huge public demand, including, 'Fly Me To The Moon,' 'Mack The Knife,' and 'That's Life.'
Customer Reviews
I Hate To Say It But....
This is actually an OK set of music from the lad.
I am not a fan, just to get that straight. I am 25, and believe that i order to sing these songs and mean it you need some sort of life experience in order to sound credible. That's just my opinion on this sort of music.
But from a listeners point of view, I think that he has a good voice, sings confidently, and it is a nice collection of music that you can stick on and enjoy.
Forget X Factor...this dude can sing.
Better than expected!
I love this cd - o.k. I know that he is no Sammy D or Frank S, but I knew that before I bought it. I don't honestly believe that those reviewers who rubished it actually bought it. He actually sings better than he did on X-Factor, and I have already played it several times, something I rarely do with a new cd. Well done Ray. I will even consider paying money to watch you when you appear in Ipswich later this year!
Great debut!
I caught Ray by complete chance on the X Factor and have really enjoyed his music ever since, he's a natural entertainer and a terrific exponent of Swing. Yes, of course some of the songs on this enjoyable album would benefit from a few more years of accrued experience but it's actually surprising how assured he already sounds on numbers like Mack the Knife, Ain't That A Kick in the Head and My Way. Agree wholeheartedly with another comment that this album is the perfect way to start the day since it generates a real feel-good feeling. What more can you ask?!
