Customer Reviews

Fascinating insight into how people operate5
This book is easy to read and easy to digest. It clearly describes particular characteristics and the way those who possess them may treat others. It has helped to me understand why past relationships have gone wrong, how present relationships can be better managed and most importantly has shown me how to prevent myself from becoming like those who have treated me badly in the past.
The infromation I have gleaned from this book gives me another tool in my armoury

Nasty People5
This book makes sense and is written in clear and understandable style. It certainly helps to understand what we are up against in terms of other people's behaviour as well as our own.

It is really good to re read when things get tough to remind yourself about what to do.

Nasty People: How to Stop Being Hurt by Them Without Becoming One of Them (Bestselling Author Jay Carter Helps Reader Break Away from T)
Nasty People; a simple yet complex book. If your not into psychology or deep thinking it might not be for you. Jay Carter uses the term "Invalidators" to describe these nasty people. But then goes on to say how they are also victims too. I can't say that I have read the book fully; so please take my comments as an introduction rather than an in depth analysis. I suppose my own analogy would be; its like having an itch in the middle of your back! You can feel it; but don't know what's causing it. It's illusive and you don't know why it is there or what to do about it. To understand the "Invalidator" and how they work; gives you the power to overcome them without stooping to their level. We can all be "Invalidators" without even knowing it; so never assume that an "Invalidator" is always someone else! Look at your own life; see if you might be one of those "Nasty People"; because nasty people don't always know that they are nasty. It's only a limited review; and I don't think that I have really done justice to Jay Carters book. It works on different levels; so it is well worth the read. When I have read it fully; and then read it again; then I might just be qualified to review the review I have just written. The 4 stars is more a reflexion on myself rather than the book; so when I have covered it fully; I might just be able to give myself and the book 5 stars???
