Average customer review:Product Description
In January 1976, Air France and British Airways took air transport into the supersonic era. "Concorde" is a celebration of this legendary aircraft and icon to a whole generation. With its exceptional format and full-page photography, this book provides an account of a prodigious aeronautic enterprise and of the technical and human skill needed to ensure that this extraordinary aircraft saw the light of day. The author tells the behind-the-scenes story of an airliner, the like of which we will never see again: interviews with famous personalities, secrets only the mechanics knew, the experience of co-pilots and air hostesses reveal little-known aspects of Concorde and life on board.

Customer Reviews
Concorde - The most complete history I've ever read.
This book is sumptuously stunning before you even open the front cover. Certainly not suited to bedtime reading as it's over 40cms in length. This serves to provide ample space to display the countless catalogue of images of this beautiful machine I have ever seen. From her conception to her demise this book charts the complete history in informative words and exceptional pictures. It covers the more unusal aspects of The Concorde story; behind the scenes articles such as pre-production tests, Lucien Servanty - the father of Concorde. There are pieces on the flight and cabin crew, the luxury menu given to passengers, examples of flight charts, maintenance - the list is utterly comprehensive and almost enchanting to anyone who has an appreciation of this amazing airliner. Every article is luxuriously illustrated with superb large photographs.
So if you're considering buying this to either learn the history of Concorde, or to take a trip down memory lane, then this book is like Concorde herself - stunning and certainly won't disappoint. A tad on the expensive side perhaps, but worth every penny.
Fantastic!
What a beautiful book, the photography is fantastic and at the Amazon price it represents excellent value. Highly recommended for any aviation addict. The only down side is trying to find a bookshelf to fit it on as it's rather on the larger side.
Stunning
There can not be a more beautiful book on aviation ever....you don't have to be an aviation buff. It is an incredible story, stunningly photographed.
