Average customer review:Product Description
This book studies the incursion of Irish Vikings into Wirral within cultural and political frameworks. Gathering together sources from England, Ireland, Wales and Norway - and further afield - this book places the fact of Ingimund's invasion of 902 AD into its proper, broader, perspective, and show how, far from being an isolated event in history, the Viking presence on Wirral was an integral and long-term component of what is now termed 'Irish Sea Culture'.

History isn't it Interesting?
This is a VERY well written book, extremely well thought out, none of the written records or archaeological finds taken at face value without cross reference. Of special interest to anyone living in The Wirral, Chester and North Wales areas. I found it to be an interesting and absorbing read.
