Spectacular
He has done it yet again !
Michael Jackson's Number one's is an outstanding, must-have for any music lover.
Not just for Michael Jackson fans, but also for any music lovers.
It gives us a view of how music videos have developed through out history, showing us that Michael Jackson has, infact, invented music videos as we know them today.
It gives a 'thrilling' chill down your spine when you watch them, they are so magical.

Number Ones
Michaels videos have never disappointed. If its the horror of Thriller, the public awareness of Man in the mirror, or the contraversial vandalism that takes place towards the end of Black or White. His videos are packed full of amazing dance moves and routines. Unlike most performers, Michael treats his videos like a short movie, so its not surprising to find some of his videos last up to nearly 15 minutes long. I have all the songs from previous albums, and will get the new single, so I am buying the DVD instead. This has a much better track listing than previous DVD's and is a must buy. I strongly reccommend you place an order for it right now as I doubt you will regret it.
Disappointing
In my opinion, Michael Jackson has never been given a decent DVD release and unfortunately Number Ones is no different.
I say this is because of three things. Firstly, five of the fifteen short films presented here have been edited down in one way or another. These include: Bad (originally 18 minutes long), The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal (this is the short “music video” version and not the version taken from Moonwalker), Black Or White (gone is the famous “panther” segment) and You Rock My World.
Secondly, there isn’t a trace of any special features, especially after it was said that the famous 1984 documentary Making Michael Jackson’s Thriller would be included.
Finally, many of the earlier short films, i.e. those prior to Black Or White, suffer from poor picture quality, such as graininess and loss of colour. You would have thought they might have taken some time to clean them up and do the DVD format some justice.
Anyway, I’m still holding out hope that one day they’ll release some sort of video anthology bringing together all of Mike’s best video’s, but knowing MJ’s current luck that ain’t going to happen anytime soon.
