The hook of The Simple Life is irresistible: two wealthy, pampered young women go from upper-crust Los Angeles to an Arkansas farm to prove that they can survive without their mobile phones and credit cards. As hotel heiress Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie (daughter of pop star Lionel) blithely move in with a farm family, the Ledings, the culture clash immediately becomes a train wreck; when asked to pluck chickens, Richie declares, "I'm not plucking anything but my eyebrows." They try to work a series of jobs (at a dairy farm, a fast-food joint and a livestock auction), but they possess not a jot of work ethic, nor any sense of the consequences of failure. Like the girls themselves, this 2003 reality show becomes fascinating and repellent, comic and horrifying. It's like watching alien beings trying to masquerade as people. --Bret Fetzer

Synopsis
Reality television gets yet another shot of adrenaline with THE SIMPLE LIFE. An almost incomprehensibly absurd premise realised for the world's viewing pleasure, this series finds two of New York's obscenely rich kids socialites thrust into the muck of rural Americana. Watch in awe as Paris Hilton (hotel chain heiress) and Nicole Richie (Lionel's daughter) struggle with the day-to-day functions that are second nature to most people, but become incredibly challenging to the overprivileged, un-worked socialites that they are. Includes the show's first seven episodes where the Leding family of Altus, Arkansas share their life and farm with the pampered Louis Vuitton-bagged princesses.

Wow! If you want to know how two of the most talked about celebrities cope with being normal, then this is the dvd for you. I have to admit that when I first watched this dvd bout 2-3 years ago, I had no idea who paris hilton and Nicole Richie was. And now i am one of their biggest fans ever!!!
The Simple life shows you how Paris and Nicole handle being in a place where they can't have phones, they can't have limos and they can't have credit cards!!! They entertain you by messing up jobs, flirting with any guy whatsoever and much more. You have to buy this dvd if you are fans of the two.

I'm impressed
This is an excellent DVD with all the episodes on it including special features which are very funny. I watched all the episodes on TV but its still great having the DVD if you've had a bad day stick this on and you can't help but smile. The clothes are outrageous and the girls are mad but they are just so likeable. I don't think anyone else could pull of wearing Christian Dior shoes in a field full of clothes like Paris and Nicole.

I bought this DVD out of curiosity and I never expected it to be that hilarious. Even if u dont like Paris or Nicole I would still recommend it if u want to see Paris Hilton discover what its like to work for a living then buy this DVD u will not be dissapointed. Thanks 4 reading.
