Customer Reviews

Beautiful, enchanting music!5
It was love at first sound with the new Robin Hood's series' music for me.

When I watched the very first episode, I got so enchanted by the theme of the series playing when they were showing the credits, that I missed the first few moments of the episode! :-) and ever since, I just loved listening to the RH theme song, and was hoping, impatiently waiting for the BBC to release the soundrtack, and when they did, I didn't waste any time and orderd it immediatly! :-D

And I can tell you, I wasn't disappointed at all! All the 34 tracks are amazing! Now, it's not even the theme song I love the most! ;-) there is the piece played at the end of episode 1, when Robin saves the men from hanging, and the beautiful air when Marian saves his life with her hairpin (track 7: Rescue); then there is the lullaby that Litle John's wife sings made into an instrumental melody (track11: From The Rich To The Poor)); then other song (sang by Eve to Much) "A Love That Cannot Be" also made into a track (n.27); and of course all the Marian related themes are simply beautiful (track 5, 7, 18...! and I could go on and on and tell you about all the other tracks, because they really are enchantingly beautiful!

The last tracks (especially "I Never Told Her I Loved Her"!!) sound so heartbreakingly sad! And how the Marian, Marian&Robin theme is combined within it (I Never Told Her I Loved Her) is fantastic! It just comes back as a haunting image, a flashback, a memory. Beautiful! I think the composer masterfully captured the heartache and despair! *sighs*

And I especially like the last track: the RH End Credits. It starts off differently: it is more classic sounding, calmer, and more sad, I would say it sounds as if they had lost hope, but then the "original theme" comes back, and it's as if the hope is restored!

Beautiful melodies, a real masterpiece! It really is of great quality!

Fantastic music, those who are still hesitating, don't, it's a MUST HAVE!! I'm sure you'll find the music beautiful and won't regret buying the CD!!

Absolutely fantastic!5
Having watched the series and being hooked on the soundtrack I went out in search of a copy of the score.... This led me to here, to which I bought the soundtrack instantly without hesitation...

I must say I was glad I did... It contains just about everything from the series (hence the mammoth 34 tracks!) and each track is fantastic!
All of my faves from the series are there... "Run Master Run", "Him I Liked", "Locksley", "Rescue", "The Nightwatchman" and of course all the music involving marian. I felt the "I never told her I loved her" track was used to perfection in the battle during the last episode!

If you're a fan of the series and like me have been humming the theme tune ever since, then this album is a MUST HAVE for you!

Soundtrack CD's, all the same...4
Most of the tracks that can be heard in this CD are based on the theme tune - they all sound roughly the same in parts, but really good if you like that sort of thing I suppose. If you haven't watched the series, this CD compilation with music from the series will make no sense to you whatsoever. But, if you have watched the series, you can really recognise bits of music from the series. Apparently, this CD only features music from series one. But, I think it's still the same in series two.

But, anyway, a great CD if you're a fan of the series, but not if you don't watch it avidly.
