BUG FIXED.... well done microsoft.
Excellent delivery as usuall with Amazon...well done...

As with one other review i had problems activating my second pc.

After several hours on the phone to microsoft they finally admitted that there is an ongoing problem with the 3 pack Windows Live One Care, when it comes to activating your second pc, where registration to your account from the second activation of the software cannot be found.

They assured me that my pc was still protected and up to date with latest protection updates, but when that one care icon is red it hard to belive them...but rest assured have had no problems.

The bug i can safely say has been fixed today. thank you micro...

As for the software itself cannot fault it.....runs extreamly quietly in the background , unlike some other well known brands that zap your memory and cpu consumption therefore slowing down your pc.
For the past 9 months i have tested this software against many others and i must say it ROCKS the others fail sadly, myself i am a system builder, repair,upgrader and i have only found ONE bug which is now fixed .
Another good point is the regular cleaning of old files ,defrag,virus scans, easy firewall config tool (one click simple) this really is the best on the market at present and the price ...well £10 a pc for the year.
All games work no conflicts at all , ideal for on line gameing..
So all together a five star product....

Given what a tune up does it takes a while, it does it when you are using your system. Defragging disks always takes ages but if you set it off in the morning then it will keep going. It takes as long as I would expect it too!

I had run the trial to see what it was like and it was great so I had to get it. It does everything in a tune up from defragging disks to making a back up of any files, it also downloads any updates for one care and your OS 9which I know for a fact because I then get windows wanting to install updates when I shut down-as it normally would). It also alerts you with any issues it comes acroos (even as minor as changing secruity setting due to your type of internet connection (public or private). At one point I wasn't backing up my files (I hadn't set a back-up location) so of its three colour ratings I couldnt get green.

When I got my laptop an up to date version of mcaffe came with it. This managed to completly block my internet connection. It wasn't even down to the firewall (Which I turned off). In comparison One Care tells you everything it is going to do and what you should do. It is very easy to use and builds on what has already been installed as part of your operating system as it is not only compatible it works with it.

One more point, one care is not only better than norton and mcaffe put together it is miles cheaper and you get a three user licence!

Better than Norton or McAfee
Having previoulsy had Norton and McAfee versions of their complete internet security software, this One Care from Microsoft compares extremely favourably. With both Norton and McAfee I found that the PC slowed, and the connection to the internet was always delayed. With this software, I have none of that.

No hassle installation (WinXP (home) SP2) and it connected and updated itself. I turned off back-ups (I know, I know), and still have the comfort of the green status.

Have only tried Norton and McAfee, so can only provide a comparison to those products. On this evidence, I shall be sticking with One Care for a long time to come.
