Cheap and Cheerful, but does the job.
I bought this just over three weeks ago as I wanted a cheap wireless router to connect to Virgin broadband and this bundle included a USB adapter as my desktop PC doesn't have a wireless card.
The router is pretty straightforward to set up, the only problem I encountered was that, although the instructions say you can leave the host name blank, I could not get the IP address to be assigned automatically without entering 'VIRGIN MEDIA' as the host name. Any other problems I had were due to settings on my PCs or software firewall.
It supports WPA2 security and has a range sufficient for my house; getting a good signal 15 meters away from the router through 3 walls. I was impressed that it uses UPnP to determine which port I use for torrents and seemed to forward it automatically.
Overall it's cheap but it does the job for a small 2 PC home network.
This router sucks
This is probably one of the worst routers I have ever come across - Dont buy it and unlike me, spend a bit more and get a decent quality router. The set up is a pain, manual never tells about the fact that you must enter some hostname and clone MAC address. In addition, everytime I power cycle the router, it looses WEP WPA keys so everytime you switch it OFF and ON, you have to make your wireless network secure again. What a pain!
No problems
I didn't have any problems setting this up,even though it was a present to someone who is using it in Hungary.I was a bit afraid that it might not work, because there was no modem at all,the internet came in the cable that connected straight to the computer,so I couldn't restart it when the manual required, still it worked.I am happy, because my sister wanted a cheap router, and so far she didn't have any difficulties. Obviously,I spent some time on it first, but I was prepared.
