Bang for Bucks !!!
Edimax BR-6504N 802.11n WiFi Broadband Router

I bought this for my VirginMedia cable modem and two laptops running on Vista and Ubuntu 8.10 respectively. It's a web based configuration, fairly straight forward but requires a little knowledge in wiresless networking as there were some jargons weren't explained clearly in the manual.

I used only "g", the signal strength was excellent(full bar), didn't drop-out in my 6 hours test.

It was a pleasant surpise to receive the router from AVIDES Media AG in Germany in less than 72 hours. The package comes with LAN cable to connect to virginmedia's cable modem, no additional cable needed.

Had previously purchased an edimax pci adapter and was not dissapointed with the router. Has improved signal by about 30% over my previous g type router and generaly runs at 270Mbps ocasionaly 300. Setup was ok and works fine with my older g type devices (printer & laptop).
Recomend this as a very good piece of kit at a sensable price.

Beware the instructions!
Almost sent this item back because I could not get it to work. Contacted Edimax via email and eventually worked out what was wrong.
It comes with a quick start guide which should be ignored! According to the quick start guide you need to select how to connect to the internet, DON'T. I spent ages trying to see if I could use it because it uses PPPoE not PPPoA which my Service Provider uses. Eventually, figured out all I needed to do was connect it to my ADSL modem!!! I did a Factory reset but suspect that was because I'd been messing around trying to get it to work. Now it works fine. So if you get one just plug it into your modem and go!
