Wireless router
Initally I thought this device was an integrated broadband modem and router - but it is just a router so make sure it is what you require. I have used this Broadband Router as a wireless connection to an ethernet receipt printer. The printer was connected to one of the router ports. It works great!. Nothing else was connected to the router as I didn't require access the my broadband modem. Good value and easy to set up.
i would avoid this one....
I wasted 2 days of my life trying to get this working. Don't know if I got a broken one or it had some king of incompatibility with my Virgin Media broadband. In frustration ended up going out to buy another wifi router that was slightly more expensive (made by Micronet) but I had the new one working in less than 5 minutes!!
Out of the box
This is the second of these that I have purchased and installed for people.
This is a router - no modem - and is set up using a short ethernet cable link to a PC. Cable is supplied. Set up is accomplished by accessing the device through the link using your browser. Read the manual on the supplied CD to get the URL. Setup is protected by username and password.
I checked funtionality using an open system network name and then went back and set a password on it. The unit seems to have a good range when using netgear or belkin USB wifi dongles
