Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
A review of Manchester City's rollercoaster 2007/08 season in The Premiership.

Customer Reviews

Comprehensive, but not complete3
This season review covers the mostly successful 2007/08 season with Sven Goran Eriksson at the helm. It contains 45 league goals such as Elano's free kick against Newcastle and Ireland's drive against Fulham - not to mention the derby double. This as well as the goals from the League cup run and interviews from key staff make it as essential as every other season review from a fans point of view.

The DVD also contains a second disk of 'special features' including a look at City's contribution to the Premier League's 'creating chances' initiative and both legs of the FA Youth Cup win over Chelsea as well an in-depth look at the facilities and staff at the clubs Platt Lane academy.

However, for all the DVDs strength in content a couple of glaring omissions let it down. The goals from the FA Cup run - however short - are not on the DVD. This means that Daniel Sturridge's first senior goal for the club in the defeat to Sheffield United (in what was a subject of intrigue for the entire country in the manner city conceded the winning goal) is missing, as is the headed winner scored by season top-scorer Elano in the previous round against West Ham. Less important but still missing; are the games in the FA Youth Cup run leading up to the final which had mostly all been filmed and shown at various stages during the season.

The DVD therefore falls short, but still contains many of the highlights from a good season.
