Product Description

It's not easy being a doctor, especially when your wife has run off in search of excitement and you're given the push from your practice for sticking up for your principles. Christopher Devon tries to make a new life and, after a bit of persuasion from his daughter, to meet a new woman. But how to find one? And how to placate a son who thinks you should never have split up in the first place? Dr Devon is not the only man with woman trouble. Tiger Wilson has been married just a little too comfortably for thirty years, and Gary Flynn is a serial womaniser who refuses to settle down. But during one month in spring they are all about to have their lives turned upside down, and not just by women. In seeking to add a little excitement to their lives, they get rather more than they bargained for. They all have their secrets, and they are all exposed to danger. The result? Death, danger, intrigue and passion. Will Dr Devon find true love and live happily ever after? Or will the bitter pill of reality prove a fly in the ointment of his dreams?

Customer Reviews

The first book in years I've found hard to put down!5
By hard to put down, I mean its been grasped from my hands when I'm supposed to be going out for the evening or because its so very late and I'll never get up in the morning if I don't put the book down. This isn't a book to aid sleep when you're having trouble dropping off because you find yourself anxiously turning to the next page, needing to know more!
Fantasticly believable and loveable characters, excellent plot involving crime, intrigue, romance, love, passion...
But its sadly too short! Please, Alan! Sweetie! Write a sequel!

Another good read from Alan4
I really enjoyed this book, despite the fact that I thought it didn't get going properly until I was someway in. Having said that, I think this was somewhat of a departure for Alan, because this plot had a crime/whodunnit aspect to it, as well as all the traditional romance I've come to expect.
I've only given it four stars, because it wasn't as good as 'Only Dad', my favourite. But this, obviously, is personal opinion and lots of you out there might actually prefer it.
I'm just a traditionalist!
But well done, Alan for another good story. The warmth between Dr Devon and Maria was really palpable. Tiger reacted well to his internal emotional struggle and Gary (who I thought I'd hate for his wide-boy tendencies) actually turned out to be a good guy, looking for commitment.
Wonderful!

Even better than "Only Dad".......5
Couldn't put it down. Finished it in 2 days and thats a first for a busy nurse, mother and grandmother. The characters were so good I am hoping for a sequel to the secret society three. My only complaint is it was too short.
Thanks Alan.
Hurry with the next book please.
