Manufacturer's Description
Traditional Forged garden digging forks are ideal for removing plants, tending to compost piles, aerating and turning soil. The digging forks are also easier to manage when dealing with heavy compacted soil and help break down big lumps of solid earth. The solid forging process used to make this tool, gives the tool its strength. By manufacturing the whole tool head out of one piece of steel, there are no areas of weakness caused by welds, which exist on non-forged products. The ash shaft on this tool is also inserted right down into the head of the tool, giving it maximum strength.
Customer Reviews
Strong and reliable
Being a serial killer of garden forks, I wondered how long this one would last - and I was pleased that even under my tender care I did not kill it within the first few weeks, as I have with all the other cheaper forks I own. This is durable, simple, and evocative of how garden tools used to be in the long distant past, possibly from Mr Titchmarsh's era (!) - But like all things of this era, one can honestly say that they don't make then like they used to... unless you happen to have one of these forks!
A great fork.
After several expensive alternative forks bending and breaking i purchased this fork. It is just like forks used to be, it is well constructed and after some very heavy use in the garden i feel it is definitely worth the extra couple of pounds.
poor finish
I was disappointed with the finish of this product. For the price I would expect the wood to have a smooth feel to it, but the wood at the top of the shaft was pitted and rough. I sent to back so can't comment on how good it was to use - it looked solid.
