Customer Reviews

Same old game, but with more cards and a rather entertaining storyline4
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's stardust accelerator is a great game for fans of the yu-gi-oh TCG (trading card game)due to its updated card library, which expands to the Duel Terminal 4 (i think) cards including the Fiend Roar Deity card set and the Mist Valley cards. Also, because of the legal problems about the ownership of yu-gi-oh between Konami and Upper-Deck entertainment not many tournaments are being held around the world, but this game still allows players to duel against random people online using Wi-Fi connection so you can still keep up with the competitive environment! Also, in the storyline mode you get 'Duel Runners' which is essentially a bike that you can customize and race against other racers on a track or even partake in a 'Turbo Duel' which you are riding and dueling at the same time (quite odd i think, but your bike is on auto pilot), in these duels you and your opponent gains a 'speed counter' every standby phase which are used to activate 'speed spells' (replacing spell cards which cant be used in these types of duels) and these countes deplete by 1 for every 1000 points of damage you take.

However, as usual for Yu-Gi-Oh and assumingly other card games, online play is very competitive so if you just want to play casually your best bet is to find a friend or duel against the computer players (which there are alot of who each use their own unique decks!) But going online has more features that just dueling others, you can download saved decks of people on the leaderboard and duel against a CPU controlled version of their decks and also you can download individual cards, CPU opponents and any new official forbidden/limited list which all change over time (cards change daily so try not to miss out!)

Overall, a great game for Yu-Gi-Oh fans, the duel runner idea seems funny but at least it is a handy way of travelling, but if you're a beginner or just brought this game for the fun of it it'll seem quite hard (forntunately there is an in-game tutorial) so I dont recommend it for people who don't know how to duel. Main things in this game are: Updated card roster, Storyline, and Turbo Duels..

Great Game!!5
My 10 year old son has been into the Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game for sometime so we jumped at the idea of buying him this Game for his DS.

Really likes it and says one of the best games he has.

Great!4
This has great game play and is really fun. The only negative is the graphics are quite poor.
