Product Description

The city of light is a place of persistent beauty, from the Tuileries gardens to the banks of the Seine to the heights of Montmartre. But the restrained palette of beige and stone painted by the city's noble architecture may leave one wondering if Parisians are color-impaired. Fear not - for in the second volume of "Paris Interiors", Angelika Taschen has brought together a selection of apartments so astonishing, so surprising, and so inspiring that you very well might not know what hit you. Think texture, think dynamic space, think eclectic, think vivid colors - these interiors are packed floor to ceiling with new ideas and unexpected pleasures. Designer duo Erwan & Ronan Bourellec, auctioneer Simon de Pury, shoemaker Christian Louboutin, gallerist Philippe Jousse, clothing designer Rick Owens, "French Vogue" editor Carine Roitfeld, and many more of the city's most interesting personalities have opened their doors for this breathtaking collection of resplendent Parisian homes.

Customer Reviews

Pure gems...perfect for inspiration and daydreaming5
I absolutely adore this book by Angelika Taschen & Ian Phillips. In the past, I bought so many interior decor books and when they arrive, they are not as good as they look and I get disappointed as I don't look at the books more than once. But I have to say this is one of the best books on the interior decoration. The best thing I like about this book is the variety. There are a great selection of taste, lifestyle and environment. The book is HUGE - it's a proper coffee table book, packed with colourful photos. The interior decor books are nothing without a good photographer. In her previous book "Paris Interiors", I thought the photographs were a bit too small. But here, the images are in new format -large, clear -making the justice to the rooms & capturing the owners' good taste, idiosyncracies, personalities and quirks. Every time I look at this book, I see something new in one of the houses described in this book. I can't help but daydream and imagine myself wandering around the rooms of the artists and writers who live in these great houses in that book. If you want to buy a copy of French interior decoration or Parisian decor book, search no more! This is the ultimate book to have on your shelf. I'd highly recommend this book and also its predecessor, "Paris Interiors".
