A well laid out, detailed photo-rich tour of the island.
I've recently brought several books for a forthcoming Iceland trip. I'd have to say that this book is easily the best in terms of planning which parts of the country to head out and see (be it town or country). Whilst Lonley Planet covers the logistical side of the trip wonderfully, what this book excels at is bringing alive all the interesting places to see in photographic format.

Best Iceland tourism book available
It's a very well conceived guide. Starts with a extensive, but not exagerated, historical introduction, and goes on to a place by place description, highlighting the main attractions and then describing in more detail. It always takes into account nature, history, cuture and social aspects in every description, and it's very well completed with photographs. In conclusion, a very well balanced guide.
