Synopsis
It has been said that art begins where nature ends. In the case of the work of Carl Brenders, art and nature blend in a seamless continuum. This illustrated book includes some of the preliminary sketches for Carl's work.

Review5
Carl Brenders is in my view one of the most talented wildlife artists in the World today. His work is stunning. This book is a joy and is simply awe inspiring. Every page is a journey of delight. The quality of the book is also great, printed on good quality paper which is really important in art books. Some of the subjects are a bit on the cute and cuddly side, but the realistic way in which the fur and feathers are renderded is truly amazing.

Carl Brenders studied as an illustrator and his love of detail is evident in all his paintings. This book is packed full of paintings and covers many years of Carl's work. If you love wildlife art, this book is a must have. It is not a technique book, nor does it follow any step by step approach, it is however, a colection of wonderful work that should inspire anyone interested in realistic art.

I would have liked a section explaining his working process in greater detail, as he does work in a mixed media technique which he has developed over many years, but this is a minor point. Well worth every penny.

Pictures Speak for Themselves5
What more can be said of the incomparable work of Carl Brenders? As an artist who is drawn to the photorealistic style I can't help but be a huge fan of Brenders. The commentary that accompanies each picture only adds to your appreciation as you realize that this man does not simply copy a photograph but creates a composition from multiple references. This book is a treasure and a delight to pore over.
